Shameful Summer Reading

I said I wouldn't do it...but...for the summer, I have decided to put down my beloved classics, along with all pride and dignity and pick up...

Twilight.

I know. Shameful.

And what's worse!...I'm hooked.
UGH!

As for Florida...we are here and settled. Casey is about to preach, but as it is 9:30, Braelyn and I are in our room and in our jammies and looking forward to a week full of swimming and sand castle building and sunbathing and, um, maybe some light reading. Well, we hope our week is at least half-full of those things...we looked at the weather forecast and it seems there will be scattered thunderstorms all week. Brilliant.

At least you can read in any weather! ;)

Regarding the move and the apartment and living in The Woodlands...I have been dying to get a post out on these matters. Unfortunately, I have been otherwise occupied trying to get ourselves settled as much as possible before we leave for Casey's first camp in Florida, which is tomorrow. I did not reach my goal of being 100% moved in, but I would say that 85% is not too shabby.

Anyways, as I said, we will be leaving for Florida tomorrow, and hopefully I will get some quality time with the blog while we are sunbathing and "suffering for the Lord" at the beach. Until then...

So Long Old Friend

We said goodbye to Tucker today...who, I admit, did drive me CRAZY most of the time, but still, it was a little sad to see him go.

Thankfully, a sweet little couple looking for an older dog adopted him this morning. I think he'll be happy with them.

I asked Braelyn if she would like to say a few words about Tucker's departure...she says, "I will miss you, Tuck."

Sweet girl. She's handling it really well. I'm proud of her.

Alright. House papers are signed. Dog's taken care of. We're on our way.

Um...Is This Really Happening?

Ok folks, it's late, so I'm gonna keep it short and sweet.

We're signing house papers tomorrow (Tuesday) morning.

We will be residence of The Woodlands on Thursday.

It's been an emotional day.
If only my eyes would stop leaking all the time I could get some work done around here!

Hey, From Denver

So, we're here in Denver for our Acts 29 Boot Camp and assessment. We got here yesterday with our Christ Church pastor, Justin Hyde, and it's been a great time so far. Only glitch...I am now in our room for the second time with an upset stomach. Not sure what's going on with me. Right now I am missing a breakout session, but I think I will be feeling okay to go to the next main session.

Anyways, yesterday, after we checked into our hotel we ate dinner at a great little Belgian pub, the Cheeky Monk. Fabulous. We will be returning before we go home, that's for sure. Tired of feeling a little sick all day, I went back to the hotel, while the guys went to a Boot Camp mixer thing. Thankfully, a little rest and some American Idol (Go Crystal!) was all I needed, cause when the guys were done and ready to hit the town, I was ready to join them.

We asked a rickshaw driver where we could get some good dessert. He told us a few places and kindly offered to give us ride for free. Now, I am a little embarrassed to post this picture, but I must, just to give you an idea of how hilarious this was to me. 1. You can't really fit 3 comfortably on this particular rickshaw, 2. The driver was FLYING through downtown Denver and 3. I couldn't stop thinking of this:

Anyways, here is said embarrassing rickshaw picture. I look so ridiculous because I threw my head back laughing so hard.Clearly, I should not be in, nor take pictures while flying in a rickshaw...poor Casey barely made it in the picture.

So far today, we've enjoyed a little extra sleep thanks to beloved black-out curtains, some Starbucks, and a couple great sessions at the boot camp. During the lunch break, my sweet Casey changed a flat tire on our rental car so that he could bring me and my upset stomach back to our room. Thankfully, I am feeling better now, so I think I'll head to the next main session.
