Baking with Ol' Whitey

First off, in a previous post I wrote about choosing a white Kitchenaid mixer over a red one, and just to be silly, I briefly referred to it as Ol' Whitey. Well, someone understood that to be what I named my mixer, as if it was my pet or something (although I do admit that I referred to my asexual mixer as "her"). Let me assure you that I did not intentionally name my mixer, but since it's out there, and since it's sort of funny, and since I love this someone...Ol' White she is!...the mixer, not the someone, although she also happens to be white :)

So, Ol' Whitey and I have been busy girls! Our first project...a batch of lemon poppyseed scones. Delish! Could of used a little bit more lemon zest though. Anyways, once those were gone, I thought we'd have another go at the scones. This time...orange chocolate chip. Another success! Although, they were very moist, and I sorta feel like scones should be kinda dry. What do you think?

If anyone has a good scone recipe...pass it on! I love a good scone, don't you? :)

When is the British conversion complete? Scones? Eat a muffin!
(But I would like an orange and chocolate one ;-) - just not with TEA! Just kidding. Glad you and Ol' Whitey are getting along.

Hey Steph!
Kyla is one of my very best friends from high school. She was a bridesmaid in my wedding, and now we get to hang out as married couples. It so fun. They are such a sweet family. And, you're little girl is SO precious. I just want to squeeze her looking at her pictures! :)

And I didn't bake yummy things like this before because, I didn't have this fabulous mixer! :) But I would love to bring you some goodies now! 10 years late isn't too bad, is it?

Hope to see you again!
All my love!

I started a blog, my dad became critically ill and I have done nothing w/ it. He has been in St Luke's since 01/08 in ICU. Is there a safe way to give you my e-mail address w/o posting it to everyone? I found your blog because you mentioned it at the ballet studio anniv party.

Hey Steph!

I'm very proud of your "British"! It sounds like you should be over here across the pond!

P.S. Scones are suppose to be dry and you are suppose to dunk it into your tea (contrary to popular belief-haha)!
